Sisyphus is inspired by the Greek myth. Sisyphus was condemned to carry eternally a heavy rock uphill and that, inevitably, rolled to the bottom before reaching the top. The Metaludio begins with a plea, followed by a constant coming and going of chords in ascent and descent, as a metaphor for the terrible punishment of Sisyphus. The rhythm of these chords follows a combinatorial numerical pattern that gives certain unpredictability to the constant evolution of the chords.
